Rector - Commandant of the Armed Forces Academy of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik in Liptovský Mikuláš, Brig Gen Assoc. Prof. Miroslav Kelemen, Ph.D. accompanied by the Vice-rector for Military Issues, Col (GS) Juraj Vyrostek, MSc., visited the National Defence University in Warsaw, Poland on May 11 - 12, 2009 to sign an agreement on cooperation between the Armed Forces Academy and the National Defence University and participate in the international scientific conference "Topical Issues of Security – theory and experience", organized by the University of Security and Defence in Warsaw.

    At the official meeting on May 12, 2009 the rector - commandant of the Armed Forces Academy and the rector - commandant of the National Defence University, Brig Gen Janusz Kręcikij, Assoc. Prof., signed the Agreement on Cooperation in the field of research & science and education concerning the scientific and applied research in security, exchange of students and teaching staff in the process of education, cooperation in organizing the educational activities and conferences and also career education within the Slovak and Polish Armed Forces.

    The delegation of the Armed Forces Academy was also given a briefing to acquaint with War Games and Simulation Centre, CBRN Defence Training Centre and the newly established Officers Training Centre of the National Defence University.
