The Defence Attaché of the Kingdom of the Netherlands
Lieutenant Colonel Arthur L. Beglinger visited Armed Forces Academy (AFA)
on the 11 th September 2012. The main aim of his visit was to get introduction
to the AFA and International Staff Officers’ Course (ISOC).
Armed Forces Academy with ISOC is recognized as
one of the 23 Partnership for Peace Training and Education Centers (PfP
PTEC) which organize courses and provide preparation for military personnel
within NATO and PfP community and this also thanks to support from the
Kingdom of Netherlands.
Lt Col Beglinger received brief information from
the ISOC Commandant Lt Col Jozef Wesselényi about the ISOC and he spent
some time with instructors discussing about how to advertise the Slovak
ISOC within the NATO, EU and PfP environment, about the Dutch – Slovak
cooperation and how to be unique and maintain the quality of the course
also in the future in the growing community of international courses and
training centers.
The guest took part also at the National Security
Course opening ceremony where he was welcomed by AFA Rector Brigadier
General Assoc. Prof. Boris Ďurkech, Ph.D. accompanied by Director of Lifelong
Education Centre Mr. Michal Chlebec.
