The International Staff Officers'
Course (ISOC 13) was officially opened by rector of Armed Forces Academy,
Brigadier General Assoc. Prof. Boris ĎURKECH Ph.D on 22 September, 2014
in the Armed Forces Academy in Liptovský Mikuláš.
ISOC 13 is being attended by 22 officers in ranks
of First Lieutenant, Captain and Major from Azerbaijan, Czech Republic,
Georgia, Germany, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Moldova,
Mongolia, Ukraine and Slovakia. The aim is to enhance their military cabalitities
in order to work within multinational environment. However, this course
is an exceptional one, since the officers from Ukraine and Mongolia are
the first participants who are taking part in ISOC within Defense Education
Enhancement Program (DEEP) in which the Armed Forces Academy has been
engaged since 2013.
The exercises will be focused on decision making
and planning of defensive and offensive operations. Since the Armed Forces
Academy is one of the Partnership Training Centers within NATO, the
general idea of the course is to increase the interoperability within
the NATO and PfP Countries concerning to training and education.
The ISOC 13 will finish on 27 November, 2014.
