There have already been 17 International Staff Officers’ Courses organized in the Armed Forces Academy (recognized Partnership Training Centre) conducted in English language.
The ISOC course is aimed on the Decision Making Process at the Tactical Level with focus on defensive and offensive operations with intention for graduates to be able to plan and conduct military operations within full spectrum of conflicts and in multinational environment.
The ISOC 17 finished on the 24th of November 2017 and after nine intensive weeks of hard study and preparation twenty officers in ranks of 1st Lieutenant up to Major from NATO (Czech Republic, Latvia Poland and Slovak Republic) deserved to be accepted as ISOC family members.
The closing ceremony was led by Vice – Rector for Education of the Armed Forces Academy of general Milan Rastislav Štefánik Assoc. Prof. Dipl. Eng. Peter Spilý Ph.D. with honored guests - Director of Personal Department Colonel Ivan Sálaši, on behalf of the Director of General representative of the Human Resources Department of the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic Major Maroš Gonos and Director of the Professional Military Education Centre Colonel Tomáš Novotný, Ph.D.. Assoc. Prof. Dipl. Eng. Peter Spilý, Ph.D. gave an opening speech in which he emphasized importance of education within the NATO where International Staff Officers’ Course take integral part in.
Slovak national representatives congratulated to all graduates for successful accomplishment of the course and ISOC Commander LTC Jozef Wesselényi, Ph.D. awarded the best student of the course, Captain Marek Białobrzeski from Poland.
