International Staff Officers’s Course, which has started on 17th of September 2018 ended with a closing ceremony on 16th of November 2018.
Eighteen officers in ranks from the Lieutenant up to Captain from the Czech Republic, Georgia, Ukraine, the State of Qatar, and the Slovak Republic successfully completed the course.
Officers spent 9 weeks at the Academy of the Armed Forces of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik in Liptovský Mikuláš during which they intensively devoted themselves into planning and conducting military operations at the tactical level in accordance with NATO standards in a full spectrum of conflicts within an international environment. As the best course student was awarded 1st Lieutenant Michal Kopuletý from Czech republik for his outstanding performance.
The closing ceremony of ISOC 19 was combined with a celebration of the 15th anniversary of organizing international courses for staff officers at SVK AFA. On this occasion the Rector of SVK AFA Assoc. Prof. Dipl. Eng. Jozef Puttera, PhD. and ISOC commander Lieutenant Colonel Jozef Wesselényi presented memorial plaque to commemorate 15th anniversary of International Staff Officers’ Courses to all distingueshed guests inclueding representative of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Slovak republic, representatives of SVK AFA, defence attachés of the Germany, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine and USA, ISOC advisors from National Guard Indiana and as well to a former staff member of the International Staff Officers’ Course.
Command Sergeant Major Miroslav Dulaj from NATO School Oberammergau in Germany presented memorial plaque of NATO School Oberammergau to ISOC Commander Lieutenant Colonel Jozef Wesselényi for excellent cooperation between both institutions.
