International Staff Officers’s Course, which has started on 25^th of February 2019 ended with a closing ceremony on 26^th of April 2019.

    Seventeen officers in ranks from the first lieutenant up to major from the Czech Republic, Georgia, Ukraine, and the Slovak Republic successfully completed the course.

    Officers spent 9 weeks at the Academy of the Armed Forces of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik in Liptovský Mikuláš during which they intensively devoted themselves into planning and conducting military operations at the tactical level in accordance with NATO standards in a full spectrum of conflicts within an international environment. They became familiar with the use of units of various specializations and services as well as with the organizational structures of individual combat units at the tactical level. They have acquired the basic information and skills needed for the military decision-making process and they are ready for joint action at all stages of preparation and planning at tactical level.

    In addition to lectures and practical exercises, they took a sightseeing trip to the Low and High Tatras, they presented their countries in "the International Day" at the Academy, and also took a part in the futsal tournament "Cup of the director of the Professional Military Education Centre", which they won.

    The closing ceremony was attended by the following guest - on behalf of the Director of the Human Resources Section of the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic - Col. Tomáš SZALAI, on behalf of the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Slovak republic - Col. Ferdinand MURÍŇ, Vice – Rector for Education - Assoc. Prof. Dipl. Eng. Peter SPILÝ, Ph.D., director of Professional Military Education Centre – Col. Jozef WESSELÉNYI and Chief of International courses department – maj. Roman KRÁĽ.

    At the end of the ceremony, invited guest congratulated to the graduates to successful completion of the course. With the Best Student Award was honored first lieutenant Marek VÁŇA from the Czech Republic.
