The teachers and students of a junior class of the Department of Electronics took a part in the international exercise of ground-based air defense systems “Tobruq Legacy 2016” organized by the Air Force of Slovak Armed Forces in the military training area LEŠŤ. This exercise was organized as one of the NATO military exercises planned for 2016. The main purpose of our participation was to examine the possibility to detect the mini UAV by the radar systems of the ground-based air defense systems. Several flights of mini UAVs were carried out during the exercise in night and day conditions and in different weather conditions. The outcomes of the exercise will be used as a part of the project related to protection of important objects against the mini UAVs.
